Content & Availability
Why is the selection in the app limited?
The store adapts to your installed content. If you only have the Base Game, you will see fewer items. As you add more DLCs or supported Custom Content, the assortment will automatically expand.
Why are some objects missing even though I own the pack?
Some objects cannot be added to inventories due to technical limitations of the game. Only items that can safely exist inside a Sim’s inventory are included in the store.
Why are some items that were previously available no longer in the store?
Some items may have been moved to specialized apps such as Purchase Medicine or Obscura Network to keep the SimSim Online Store better organized and more focused on general household purchases. If you cannot find a previously available item, check whether it is now provided through one of these dedicated systems instead.
Is Custom Content (CC) supported?
Standard CC objects (non-crafted items without recipes) are often supported and can appear in the store. However, they must be added manually by their internal object IDs, which means only selected items from trusted and well-tested creators are included. This helps ensure stability and prevents broken objects from affecting the store. Custom recipes are currently not supported due to technical limitations and inconsistent tagging by other creators.
Premium Membership
Why can I only buy one copy of an object at a time?
Sims with a standard store account can only purchase one instance of each object per transaction. Sims who have an in-game Premium Membership in the SimSim Online Store can purchase multiple copies of the same object at once.
Is Premium Membership required to use the store?
No. The store works without Premium Membership. Premium Membership is an optional in-game feature of the SimSim Online Store and is not related to any external purchase. It unlocks additional convenience functions such as buying multiple copies of the same item at once.
Technical Behavior
Does the store require an internet connection?
No. The SimSim Online Store works completely offline. Even in off-the-grid households, purchases remain available through alternative delivery methods.
Why is there no mail delivery?
Items are added directly to your Sim’s inventory. Mailbox delivery is technically restricted by the game and would require manual overwrites for hundreds of objects, which is not a priority at this time.
Save Data & Settings
Do I need to delete the store save file after updates?
No. The store save file does not need to be deleted after updating the mod. It stores internal data such as purchase history and statistics for your Sims and should normally be kept.
What happens if I delete the store save file?
If the save file is deleted intentionally or accidentally, nothing critical will happen and the store will continue to work normally. However, your Sims will lose their recorded purchase history and related statistics. This data cannot be restored once removed.
Will deleting the save file break the store or my save game?
No. Deleting the store save file will not damage your save game. Only internal store-related tracking data will be reset.
UI Issues & Custom Content Conflicts
Why does the screen turn dark when opening certain store categories?
This is a known EA UI limitation that can occur when too many picker entries are loaded at once. In some cases, broken or incorrectly tagged Custom Content objects may also trigger this behavior.
Can broken Custom Content affect the store?
Yes. Some Custom Content objects may contain invalid definitions or incorrect tags. Because the store can automatically include tagged objects from other mods, unsupported or broken CC may cause categories to fail to open or display a dark screen.
Why do some categories fail to open while others work normally?
This usually indicates that one or more Custom Content objects included in that category are broken or incompatible. Removing recently installed CC often resolves the issue.
